Where To Find Pink Salmon *Lake Ontario*

Spring: During the spring most salmon are found off shore feeding heavily on spawning alewifes and smelt.  The technique of choice for most anglers is trolling a variety of spoons using downriggers.  The spoons are trolled within 1 mile of the shore, above and below the marked fish.  Best spoons to use are nasty boys, williams, evil eyes and northern kings.  If you are fishing from a pier, try casting spoons such as pixies, and cleos.

Summer: During the summer the salmon move out into deeper waters, again relating to schools of baitfish. Trolling spoons on downriggers near the baitfish schools is always a good choice.

Fall: In the fall salmon move inshore again, to spawn.  Large numbers congregate at river mouths.  During this time trolling these areas with spoons or plugs is done often.
